On the Couch: Unblocking for Writers and their Characters with Sandy Hutchinson Nunns, in association with Brighton Lapidus.

Material on writer's block tends to be theoretical texts on its origins.

Great – but what do you do about it? These two morning workshops will be a chance to explore a real problem that you may be experiencing - and find a real solution to it. It could be a problem that you the writer are experiencing, or it could be that your characters are stuck in treacle. It doesn't matter what form of writing you bring – fiction or non-fiction, poetry or academic tome – or if you’re just seeking to improve your personal journal writing or client notes.

About the Workshop Leader

Sandy Hutchinson Nunns is the Brighton Co-ordinator for the long-running literary therapy organisation Lapidus. She is trained as both formal psychotherapist and writing therapist and uses writing in all its forms to facilitate personal change in the individuals she works with. These workshops are not therapy - but they are therapeutic and as such as suitable for anyone who writes as well as counsellors and therapists. They will be playful and light-hearted, but not lightweight. Participants will leave with tools to use in the future wherever their pencil takes them.

This workshop is open to both therapists and writers, of all levels: dealing
in poetry, prose, academic or journalistic writing.
