Free Read Competition from THE SOUTH
Supported by Arts Council England and The Literary Consultancy.
The winners of the Free Read Competition, supported by Arts Council England and The Literary Consultancy, have been announced. We had some very high-calibre entries, under four categories: poetry, long-fiction, short-fiction and script. These were anonymously judged by a panel from THE SOUTH – all of whom are writers themselves with a wealth of professional experience. The winners from the four categories are:
Long Fiction:
Naomi Foyle, Same Same
Short Fiction:
Simon Joseph, ‘Sea Change’, ‘The Ambivalence of Experience: Kibbutz Diaries’, ‘Chasing Dreams…’
Poetry:
Charlotte Gann, Not Lotte
Script:
Judy Upton, Tooth and Claw
The winners’ work has now been submitted to the Literary Consultancy, where it will receive an expert editorial treatment. And we hope to see some of this excellent work in print in the near future!
