We are delighted that we have received funding from Arts Council England, South East to support our major series of commissions on the theme 'place of birth', for poets working with screen-based artists.
The commissions in HASTINGS, BEXHILL, BRIGHTON, ARUNDEL and HAYWARDS HEATH have already been completed. The WORTHING commission - Alphabetic written by Jackie Wills and animated by Mark Collington - will be launched at a special preview at The Dome Cinema in Worthing at 7.30pm on Thursday July 8th. The artists will show their work and discuss the commission before the main programme that evening which happens to be Shrek 2!

The commission has been focussed on the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre in Arundel. The poet Andrew Dilger has written a short sequence of poems from which textile artist Laura Thomas of the Ann Sutton Foundation selected one - Prayer to the Fates - with which to weave a special fabric.
This woven poem was then presented to the camera obscura in the reed house at the Centre, as an image of the poet in the reed bed fell across it. Photographer Roger Bamber was there to record the moment.
Laura is now creating a finished piece for display at the WWT Centre next year. An informal afternoon event on Saturday February 14th with wine and nibbles will celebrate the launch of the Arundel commission including readings by poets and the presentation of the finished collaborative piece.
